Great helmet by Mac-Stanislav

Hello,

I finished this helmet now.
The helmet is from spring steel. Helmet is from 2,0mm and visor and back parts of helmet is from 1,5mm. The spring steel is hardened cca 46HRc.

That is an interesting looking helm...what is that image/relief from? What period and region would've had these in use?

the period for helmet is start 13.the century.

The original image is a repousse cover on what is known as the "Silver Shrine of Charlemagne." It's dated c. 1207 and was made in Lower Lotharingia (Northwestern Germany). It's currently in the Museum Treasury at the Aachen Cathedral.

Mac, this is a beautiful reconstruction! Can you PM me with a price for a helmet like this? I am very curious...

thats different... id be concerned about stress cracking in the eye slot corners where its not rolled. did you drill a small pilot hole in the corner befire rolling them out?

I sawed the holes for eyes by grinder.
The corner of eyes are polished decoration by file.
