2 long overdue reviews - Viking Leather & Somedudeinutah

Post by PatternWeld »

I purchased 2 pairs of 14th century boots from Viking Leathercrafts.

One of the buckled style & one of the laced. I ordered them with double soles with the intention of mounting hobnails.
I got the buckled pair in black & the laced in natural, so I could dye match them the shade of Oxblood I wanted.

Despite being manufactured in Pakistan, these are far better quality than the price they sell for.

When the option for lugged soles instead of the crepe style vibram became availible, I sent them back to Frank and he upgraded them with expert skill & a super fast turn-around.

6/5 - on all counts I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Viking Leathercrafts again and know I am getting great value & service for my $.

Was kind enough to take an open ended commission for a set of stainless sollerets, based on the ones found in Churburg.

This man is a gentleman and craftsman of high calibur. As a proud owner of several pieces of armour he has made these sollerets stand out. They were not simply his gently used cast offs but a new set made to fit my shoe size and made to fit the Viking Leathercrafts 14th century boots.... without having one on hand.

6/5 - If a piece of his make comes up, jump on it faster than me or loose out! $ spent with this fellow Archiver is $ well spent.

I thought your boots turned out great Patternweld. I don't think you will be slip sliding around the field with those now. Nice dye job on your end by the way as well. They turned out nice. Thanks for the opportunity to upgrade those for you, enjoy.

Sweet. My wife recently orded a pair of 14th C. buckled ankle boots with the lug sole form Viking Leathercraft, and now I'm anxious to see them!
Nice work Frank.

And darnit, James, now I'm rethinking my ideas for a mail or scal sollaret, and drooling over those sabatons! Nice work!
