Who was it that wanted to get a bascinet from me?

Post by Mad Matt »

Someone wanted one when I posted the pics of my first attempt. I declined since I didn't have a welder and wasn't sure when I'd get one.

Anyway I'll be getting one soon and would be willing to take the comission now.

This is the pic I posted of the first attempt. And on future ones there won't be that funny looking ridgy thing around the centre I've found out what I was dooin wrong with the grinding. I am going to fix that one I want to finish my sallet first though.

Anyway if you're still in the market drop me an e-mail or respond here.

I even remember that the lines the person was looking for were requested by posting a pic of a bascinet with a coronet on it.

I believe it was Edward atte Flynt that was interested in the bascinet. I'm almost positive it was.

That's kinda what I thought too. But I can't find the thread anymore. And since I'm not positive and don't know if he's still in the market for one I won't pester him with an e-mail.

Thanks though. You remember waaay too much man. Time to start abusing your brain like you're supposed to do in your youth.

It was me Matt! I'm looking for a "Dress" Bascinet I can wear when I do talks at schools and stuff. I'd like it to fit close like the ones in period did. Since I won't be fighting in it it won't need 1/2" of foam on each side of my head. I'm going to do (or commission somebody to do) a period suspension for it. My melon is 23" So the helm wouldn't have to be more than 24" or so. Lemme know when your ready to take a stab at it!! I really liked the lines of the one you did at the Hammer-in.

lol, yeah I know. But I've had 3 or 4 (can't remember) concussions, plus I get staggeringly drunk six times a year, so I'm doing the best I can! Image

Must go bang head on wall now...
