Wtb hand pro, kidney pro and throat pro
My kit is short only by three items. And I am starting my search for these now, though it will be on Friday the 13th that I will be able to offer money for them. I don't know if this is common or not but it seems to take a week or so for me to be able to find what I am looking for so I am using that as justification for looking for what I want this far ahead.
I am after three things. The first and more important of the three being hand protection. The other two I can borrow off friendly types that I know who have extra as loaner gear but this one I am short on so it takes priority. Full hand pro first, something along the lines of clamshell or finger gauntlets. Demi-gauntlets will come later on for me, they are less of a priority then what I need to use my axe and the spear I will eventually construct.
Second priority is kidney protection. I don't need anything fancy like, just something functional.
And third priority is throat protection. There are multiple gorgets available to me to pick from for what I wish to borrow, but I would like own one for myself.
I am not looking for anything custom built. I am more than willing to acquire used gear for these three items.

depending on your price range for hand pro there are alot of options out there. i went very budget friendly and bought a pair of hockey gloves(look not the best but have not had any hand problems yet) found them for about 30 bucks
A gerbil on PCP is of tactical advantage if you know how to use it right.

Do not need any basket hilt or anything else with the hockey gloves?

You could always use a heavy leather weight lifting belt for kidney protection.

hockey gloves(not street hockey or lacross) are counts as gauntlets
course you do need some sort of crossguard on your sword but that can be done with foam, rattan, hose or whatever

I just sent a bunch of gorgets to lordnugg at enchanted mountain armoury.
Very basic stuff at very basic prices.
You can find the shop on Facebook or send nugg a PM

SNARF
But seriously (and back to the OP)
I wear a Valeo lifting belt for my kidney protection (and have for nearly a decade).
Made my gorget in an afternoon (cuir boulis), heavy leather to 'boil', light leather to articulate and some Chicago screws. It has served me well for (also) nearly a decade.
I wouls advise against hockey gloves. I work with my hands, and I find them less than desriable.
