Alchem Armoury... Not really a review just yet.

Post by Angusm0628 »

Contacted the folks at alchem asking whether they had 46" sword blades in stock.. The answer was "YES WE DO" so I ordered one..

3 weeks go by, I ask on the status at which point I get an email saying "We have to make it as it's a custom length and takes about 4 weeks" We are now at week six (which in the overall scheme is a short time but not when you are told an item is "In stock")

So at this point per the Frieman Scale

Quality 0/5 if an in stock item doesn't exist, there can be no quality rating.

Communication 0/5-- This transaction started based on what was an immediate falsehood

Shipping-- 6 weeks for an in stock item.. Ohh wait never mind, it wasn't there..

Price-- I paid to get nothing shipped to me 0/5

Comparable to other manufacturers... 0/5 When in stock means "Gimme yer money and we'll make it" and those other suppliers say in stock and actually ya know MAIL it to you. there is no comparison...

I sent them an email questioning the above.. We'll see what happens.

I JUST looked at your FS post seanjohnson1 about those spaulders then saw this post. I thought the same thing until I found this:

I have ordered from Alchem many times. I like their stuff, but it always takes longer than they initially project. Often longer than their second projection, too.

Well update.... Sword blade arrived today.. So I guess I should update my frieman scale on the item in question...

Quality 4/5 Nice lines good flex and enough body to do what I want from it.

Communication 2/5-- This transaction started based on what was an immediate falsehood but it did make my home

Shipping-- 6 weeks for an in stock item.. Ohh wait never mind, it wasn't there..

Price-- The $135 is worth the money but the wait is a bitch..
