Fiberglass barbute scale replica

Post by white mountain armoury »

Cast from a piece in the Wallace collection I believe.
A great study tool to aid in accurate shaping.
This is an auction, bid away.
Should be cheap to ship as it weighs very little.
I will accept paypal.
I will leave this up for a few days
Please just bid in dollars, no cents

Any possibility of seeing a profile shot?
Any way to confirm it may have a Wallace twin (albeit in steel)?

I'll go $100 as is.

Just curious, how sturdy is it?
I mean is it a thin cast that is flimsy or more robust. (Not thinking for combat)

Its really thick and very strong, but not really something you could wear, the original is quite small, the repro that much smaller due to thickness of the "glass"
I did put it on a 6 year old once and it fit, but don't think of this as a costume piece.

It looks like one of the Tower copies. It is certainly a copy of a barbute in the Royal Armouries.
I have 3 of these (other helmets, not this one) and they are very accurate and look good.

I have the bascinet, Henry VIII's silvered and engraved and the burgonet they made.

If anyone cares, they were more like $200 new when you could buy them. I am short at the moment or I would add it to my collection. I should anyway.... but I will be good to my wife.
