had some old fencing masks so tried this , would this work for C&T or WMA stuff?

Yes, with a few caveats.

Firstly, it depends how old the masks are. Pre... about 1985 or so... fencing masks were constructed differently, and they failed differently- by punching through. Now they fail by crumpling, making them safer. So, define 'old' masks.....

Secondly, because masks fail by crumpling, expect to have to retire and replace the mask after a certain amount of time. My mask based rig lasted about 3 or 4 years, but wasn't getting used much. Then it picked up a dent which made me nervous, so it got replaced. I would expect it to do so faster if being used mainly for C&T (mine was being used mainly for sites where the public were present as a 'demo helm'.

Yes, but honestly, I think you would be better served if you just pounded out perf plate instead of using an old 3 weapons mask.
The visibility is almost the same between the 2 and the perf plate is MUCH more robust and less likely to fail.
It might even be easier than fiddling with trying to cut and edge an old mask like that.

all that being said, that is a pretty slick helm for C&T.
What gauge is it and what size?

Also, it's worth noting that since masks rely on an ability to crumple in order to fail, adjustments to them should be kept as much to the edges as possible, so's not to inhibit that ability.

Got to say, my perf visibility is considerably worse, but I think that's to do with the way the perf is angled (so I don't have the 'whole hole' to look through, but more of an oblique thing, and the fact I haven't (yet) painted the interior blade, to try and reduce glare.
