Review of Great Helm made by Accdntprone

Post by Hacky2447 »

I comissioned the Archive member Accdntprone to build me a great helm. What I recieved is fantastic work. The communication was fantastic. He communicated every stage of making the helm wit progress pictures. As well as including the need to redo some parts of the helm.

He asked me if I wanted brass on the helm, and that he was not sure if he was going to be able to put the brass on, but was able to and it turned out awesome! I cant wait to pad it up and get it going. My only nag about the helm is that the bottom of the helm should have been flared out, but that was not discussed or brought up by me, cause i didnt think abuot it until I recieved it.

He made the helm of 14gauge mild steel with a 12 gauge top. THIS THING IS SOLID!

The front has a brass cross, and he painted the inside with a rust preventative paint.

Scores for the review

Customer service A+
Communication A+
Time it took to get it made and recieved A+
Helm quality A+

I highly recommend going through this man, and giving him a go and order what you are looking for. Low wait time, fantastic turn around and great quality work.

AND NOW on to the Armor Pron.

the gunk on the back / side is just wax for rust prevention.

Hi and thank you for posting pics with your review. If you want a flare on the bottom of the helm its no problem, find yourself a nice rounded edge, or a piece of small pipe, scribe a line around the inside of the helm and tap that monkey out.

take care

Sorry about that. I usually flare the bottom of a spangenhelm, but not a greathelm. Mostly becaue the greathelms seem big enough to not need it. That said, I would have been happy to do so had I known you wanted such. I can still take care of it if you like.

It is not a worry. Honestly I didnt know I wanted it, until I recieved it and would purely be asthetic anyways. LOL.. It is in no way your responsability to fix it, or your fault. :)
