Helmut needs a Helmet!

Post by Helmoot »

I'm a newbie SCA fighter and I really need a helmet. My persona is 11th Century Germanic, so I've been told I want a spagenhelm. My fellow newbie got a helm here:
http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=31025215
I don't like it though, it is a spuntop and it is too short (I can put my whole fist between the bottom of the helmet and gorget). I just want something that is SCA legal, fits right and suits my persona.

Thanks for the replies guys. Dave/Cet-your stuff looks great, but you are definity out of my price range. I can't spend over $200. I really want something uesd, beat up, bruitish and ugly. It was my hope that my posting would instigate someone to sell off their oud beater they have in the closet.

I've got a crease-top, bar grill around. Maker's mark says AB Hammer did it. I believe it's 12g dome/14g sides. A little rust, otherwise in fine shape.

(Is AB Alan Bauldry?)

To everyone. Thank you for yur help, I beleive that I am going to contract Asher der Jager to make me a Spagenhelm. I'll put up a posting on it when I get it, and I look forward to meeting all of you someday on the feild of battle.
