from mainland Europe to work for him in London. Pierre Terjanian explores the roles of
craftsmen like Martin van Royne and Paul van Vrelant. He analyses the extant artefacts in the context
of the archival evidence allowing him to argue for a new identification of the armourer
who used the mark of a Roman M under a crescent, shedding light on some of the Royal
Armouries
