I wish to buy a sword

I am looking to purchase a late 14c sword for my use, I wish for something 'higher end' possibly even custom. Can anyone post liks for a North American supplier?

Check out this sword on ebay. I have purchased two swords from this supplier (in Canada), and the swords are great. The Norman combat sword I bought is extremely well balanced. All of his items are full tang and made for combat. Just be prepared to wait a couple months for delivery. By the way, the arms you made for me are great. It kind of depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to do serious WMA training and/or cutting, I recommend: Lutel, Del Tin, Albion Mark, Atrim, or Arms and Armor. Obviously you want it sharp for cutting, blunt for general training/sparring (so you may need more than one). Nothing you normally see on ebay is really functional or made for serious use. Lutel is at: http://www.lutel.cz/ Albion Armorers at: http://albionarmorers.com/ is a good source for both Del Tin and their own line of swords. Arms and Armour is at: http://www.armor.com/ they are very nice but pricey although well worth the money. Atrim is available at several retailers such as Blasksmith Brothers at http://www.blacksmithbrothers.com/ and All Saints at http://allsaintsblades.com/ If you want a good, functonal sword, do yourself a favor, stay away from ebay and go to a real sword maker or dealer.

All the places Matt mentioned have good reputations. Lutel isn't in North America, but Art from A Work of Art does distribute them here. You could also check out BladeArt and look at the swords made by someone like Tinker. For custom smiths, do your research on here, swordforum, and netsword. Vince Evans and Kevin Cashen are two of the best in North America, but they may or may not be taking orders. If they are, don't be surprized if their wait list are two plus years.
