6061 T6 plate $2/#

Post by Blakthorne »

Hey!

So I realize that this stuff is awfully thick for most applications used here, but I figured I'd throw this out:

I work at a metal distributor's based in Seattle, Wa, called Metal Shorts, and we've recently got a large amount of 6061 T6 in that we want to sell out on - therefore, we're offering it at $2/pound on a minimum order of 175 pounds, which is over a dollar per pound cheaper than most of the market for retail metal sales.

The material comes is 48.5" x 144.5" sheets, but can be cut to size, and we do stock rems, as well, and Test Reports are available on request.

So here's the thicknesses of plate:

.250"
.500"
.750"
1.00"
1.25"
1.50"
2.00"

...we also have some 3003 H22 .250" diamond sheet in that we're looking to sell, as well.

Should you be interested, please email Metal Shorts at sales@metalshorts.com , or call at 800.785.9778, and mention that you saw it on the Armour Archive forum.

Hope it helps somebody!

I am almost afraid to ask... but what would a person do with 2" thick 6061?

In an SCA context?

Laser cut pommels and crosshilts....marshal's gages...rebated aluminum weapons...the list is endless.

Wish I knew how to weld the stuff. I'd get the diamond sheet and make myself a new truck bed (inside).
