I saw a piece on the Internet which I can't find again.
It was a high quality variation of a standard SCA generic "throat collar" with a maille drape attached. I remember that the craftsman (or craftswoman) did not do the chain themselves, and that the padded collar was specifically reinforced for SCA use, but nothing else about the piece. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

That was a review of a gambeson, with a side mention of the maille standard.
