I will be getting a Klapvisier Bascinet (Dogface!!!) with vervelles from the Wombat I am assuming within two months or so... I am looking for an aventail that is either rivited / stainless / welded (so that I don't have to replace rings so often)... my email is gjholland@mindspring.com if some of you fine metal weavers can quote me price and timing. Pics of your work or a website would be nice, price ain't everything Image

Best regards

actualy, if you go about 14 to 12 gauge, butted works great. if you go galvinizd in those gauges, it will save you even more. just my two cents.

Actually, my best suggestion would be go with 14 Guage 3/8" ID Stainless steel butted chain maille. After 5 years of chain maille I have learned, don't skimp on the materials. Stainless steel is strong and is easy to care for. Also another bonus is that it won't tarnish as bad and doesn't have that funky smell.
