Taking a Few Orders

Post by Edric »

My wife has a half finished breastplate and I am going to get someone to finish it off.

I need to generate some cash to get it done so I am going to take a few orders to make it possible.

I can do crests similar to the one I did for my bascinet for about $35, add $15 for a torse and mantle. You would have to drill holes in your helm, but see what it does for you.

Arming Doublets similar to the one shown here would start at $250.

Cotehardies in linen starting at $65, wool $85, and I have some black cotton that I could do one out of for $70.

Regular doublets $60 in linen, $70 in wool, the black velvet would be $65.

I can also do chausses, hose, braies, gambesons, tunics, or whatever type of cloth your heart desires. Prices vary with options and sizes. If there is something you have been wanting, email me and we can discuss it.

I will give 10% off the prices listed here for anything I can do with materials on hand (excluding the velvet, that price is already for material I have).

Just my $.02, highly recommend his work. I'm very happy with my linen cotehardie.

Well it looks like I have gotten enough orders to close ordering until I hear otherwise from the people I am discussing orders with.

A note, the black cotton above was meant to read black cotton velvet. Once I am done with a couple of the orders I have now, or someone gives up their spot. I am going to make an offer on the black velvet. I have a great idea for it.

Let me know when the spots open up again. I'd been interested in a nice cotehardie. Warning though .. I have one of those mutant Pentamere chests (54+") with a longer back measurement than front measurement (knuckle dragging and pole vaulting will do that to ya!) Image

Oh and how well do the crests stand up to getting hit?

The prices above are for machine stiching throughout. I can do hand stiched hems an such for a few bucks extra depending on the extent of the stiching needed.

That particular crest has been hit hard enough to snap my neck to the side and there is no sight it ever got hit.

It has also been hit several times in 2 tournaments and the only damage was one of the feathers came off of the cap and was glued back on easily enough.

It was not designed to take a hit, but to move. The cap that hold it on allows a little give each way so when it gets hit, it doesn't absorb the blow itself, but transfers the force into movement and to the cap. It is 4 layers of water hardened 9oz leather glued together with gorilla glue. It is pretty stout.

The general consensus of everyone who has handled it or hit it, is that it will be around for quite some time.

If anyone wants to get on the waiting list, email me and I will put your address in, in the order your email is recieved.
