Well, that's subject to change. Years ago, If you asked me if david patton would ship out within his delivery window, I'd have said yes.
This is the man who single handedly saved the archive during the porno-squatter incident.
Then you have a group of armourers who are just often late, but you will get the stuff (eventually) Steve Belden, for example. Steve seems like a good guy, and I have no doubt he will make good on all of his orders. however, WHEN that will be is questionable.
further, its subject to change. Bill McCall was a very fast mailler, but dropped the ball and vanished owing lots of folks money.
Wise ogre armoury and arador both have reviews boards, where you can get a good idea, but there are no guarnatees.

Just to follow up what Rev said, your best bet is to ask specific questions when you're about to deal with a specific armourer.

I trust Illusion Armory completely - they have always kept their word and ship dates within the week even estimating out with six month lead times - Lynette and Scott are very honest people to deal with there.
I recently read an article of an ebay scammer that just received a six year federal sentence for mail fraud - the postal service (internet business transaction fall under mail jurisdiction) went after him and found him even after he moved. People that don't take internet business seriously WILL pay the piper if they don't operate ethically.

sorry to bump this topic with no new development.
i was just browsing through the thread, and seem to be a total of 15 people that gotten ripped off by galon. i may be way off, but that is my estimate. anyway with about 15 people we could have a small tourney. The "I Got Ripped Off by Galon but I'm Trying to Make the Best out of a Bad Situation" double elim tourney or something. Perhaps this could be done at Pennsic.
just a whim....

I hope we get something out of this.
But, in the meantime, i need some new hand protection. If anybody has any gauntlets they are looking to get rid of, e-mail me at Cactusdan1@hotmail.com with a pic and a price.

Stefan, I don't have anything from you, so I don't believe you did contact me. E-mail me with all the info you have, copies of any saved e-mails to or from Galon, and a brief paragraph of the info (this is what I ordered, what I paind, when, etc).
If the e-mails bounces back, post and let me know and I'll e-amil you so you can reply (it happened once before, very odd).

Well, this appears to be it. Not enough people, not enough money lost. As good as it would be for Postal (or anyone for that matter) to go after a defrauding armorer, the Federal government is reactive, not proactive.
I will keep a hold of all the info, and keep looking for those who did not get their merchandise in a hope that someday, something can be done. Until then, I want to thank everyone who gave me their info, and apologize that I could not do more.
Thank you all for your time.

I'm going to put my ass out on a line here.
That website that was mentioned? That people liked the idea of but were afraid of getting sued?
Its going up. I think it'll be titled "Reasons not to buy from Armourer (insert name)".
Customer name (first name, last initial)
Email
Item
Ordered when
Price paid
Not delievered.
If anyone is interested, let me know. PM here or email me at jakesch@ramcell.net or jakesch@medieval-web.net
Sorry if the emails don't come out as active links!

I don't think the worry was about people posting as saying X armorer ripped me off, after all, that happens now. I think the worry was giving armorers an Archive stamp of Approval. It makes it more official, and if an armorer goes south, people might want to blame the Archive, since they had the Archive's SoA. That's where it gets tricky.
