mid XVc Itallian dresses FS

Post by Willy_Trambone »

My wife is selling her dresses. All the items are used, but in good condition. Were made and worn for living history events.

1. Mustard-yellow Italian dress
Woolen Italian dress with a front lacing. Totally and neatly hand-sewn, lined with white and mustard linen on sleeves and back+front, skirt is without lining. Both beautiful fabric, purple-brownish herringbone and mustard-yellow, with no stains or other damage. The very bottom of the skirt is a little bit faded, but the length is good enough to cut it (up to height 170 – I’m 167, and the dress is too long for me). Brass golden-plated lacing. Size S
$60

2. Peach children’s dress
Little woolen Italian dress for a 1-1.5-year old, worn twice for a miserable amount of time. Once – sleeveless and with a tuck on a skirt, second time – with sleeves, that can easily be removed if necessary. Peach wool shrink after the first laundering (before sewing), yet there's no fabric damage, it looks new. Dress has 5 brass pairs of hook and eye, and that was really handy.
$25

3. Green with orange sleeves Italian dress
Woolen Italian dress with a side lacing. The cloth is a little bit pilled all over, yet basically it’s in a good condition, without any fabric damage or stains. Has linen lining on back and front, no lining on sleeves and skirt. No machine seams visible, some parts are hand-sewn. Size S
$35

4. Taupe sleeveless kirtle
Woolen Italian dress with a front brass lacing. Soft wool (weft and warp are white and taupe), looks a little bit pilled, was worn couple of times. No stains, a tiny fabric damage at the bottom of the skirt, totally unseen (tiny hole, was on a fabric when bought). No machine seams visible. Size S
$35

5. Pilgrim’s robe
Classic XVc pilgrim’s robe with two central gores (back and front). Was worn once to take photos. Fabric looks new, lined with chocolate milk linen, neatly sewn. Inner stiches were machine made, lining is attached by hand. Front part has a really tiny damage by moth (perfectly historical!). Size S
$45

6. Red linen sleeveless kirtle
Italian dress with a front lacing. Totally and neatly hand-sewn. The fabric is really good and beautiful – two-colored tight linen, weft and warp are light maroon and uncolored grey. Has a little wax stain on the bottom of the skirt, invisible in wearing. Size S
$45

7. Blue Italian dress
Woolen Italian dress with pleats and slit sleeves, in a new condition (was used once for photos). Sleeves and the upper part of the dress is lined with faded-blue linen, skirt is without any lining. There’s no lacing on sides, the dress was worn with belt, so basically it has two side cuts. Pleats are tighten with linen on the inside. No machine seams visible, some parts are hand-sewn. Some inner seams are not finished, though it’s not visible at all. Size S
$120
