What I was most drawn toward was the inkwell. What can you tell us about that? In particular the stopper interests me.
Overall, I am impressed by your projects. That's the general sort of thing that I always wanted to get into making when I was in the SCA - the little things that complete an impression and often don't get the notice that you'd expect from all the work involved.

The drawings and descriptions in Dan Diehl'books are not as complete as they could be. He is not a woodworker first and does not exlpain the full process as completely. I have made several pieces from the book, the wine cabinet, the large chest (our beer box at war) and several smaller chests in the styles shown. I am just warning you that you should have an idea of woodworking and not relying completely on Dans books for total instruction. If you search the web for Medieval Chests you can find sites that have other references for comparison.
