News of Great Sorrow (Xpost)

Post by Thaddeus »

I just got a message that Earl Sir Aelfwine, after a long battle with leukemia died shortly before midnight Friday. Aelfwine was king of the East in AS XVI, and is survived by his wife and daughters. No contact information or details of services is available yet, but will be posted if it comes.
We will miss him.

Thank you for the information. I knew him a little many years ago. I also told my wife Ardis, she recieved her AoA from Aelfwein and Aristorm.

This feels like the end of an era ... way back when I was given my first "intro to the SCA" lecture, some of the elements were: "You live in the Shire of Nithgaard .... the shire is part of the East Kingdom ... the King and Queen of the East are Aelfwine and Arastorm ...."

Rest well, old warrior.

Following this link should bring people to a memorial forum for Aelfwine. If anyone has some thoughts, storys, or whatever they would like to share, they are welcome to do so here.
Thanks
