Hello, I'm new to armoring and was wondering if anyone can give me info on scale mail construction.

Thanx that a lot of help but I'm also wondering about methods for cutting these large number of scales.
My brother, who's around and about the hydrolics business, says to rig a repeatable punch affair. But by his discription this would produce disks instead of scales.
Has anyone heard of round scales?

You should be able to make a hydraulic press to punch out any shape that you desire. (within reason) I am actually considering making one to mass produce the brass hinges which are such a nightmare to make by hand.
