Has anyone used these in SCA combat? If so, how well do they hold up?

Ditto on the Poleax heads. Lovely, but will it self-destruct?

Also, any word on whether rubber heads on pole-weapons are illegal in any kingdoms? I recall someone mentioning that once...

The owner/operator of Keystone was the earl marshall of Caid. I think he designed then in accordance with Society wide standards in mind. There could be the odd case of a kingdom not approving them but I would find that doubtful. I know some kingdoms want the entire rubber surface to be covered in tape, though. As for how they hold up, I have the hammer head and it has taken quite alot of abuse and is still going strong.

Thank you, Munz. That answers my Q.

Midrealm's gone to Society-wide standards. so these'll be okay. I really like that pollaxe - maybe on a 6' stave with a thrusting tip?

I have a six-foot bec-de-corbin using one of those heads. It's pretty devastating.

Templar Bob,

Devastating-
1 : to bring to ruin or desolation by violent action
2 : to reduce to chaos, disorder, or helplessness

So are you unbeatable whilst wielding the aforemention Polearm, or does it hit like a Mack Truck on steriods???

I have entertained the thought of picking up one on these heads but the general concensus is that they hit HARD. Can you confirm/deny this?

Thanks for your time,

RLTW

I was informed that Midrealm has gone to society wide ARMOR standards -not weapon standards. Can you please let me know what information you have to support this?

and please don't tell me to go to the Middle Kingdom pages -I hate going there.

I may be wrong. I'll go chat up my friendly local marshal, Baron Master Calum, who is part of the Marshallate Comittee for Rules and knows the book backwards & forwards.

I'll get back to you Thursday, after I see him...
