RR track anvils

Post by albatros »

How many people here would be interested in such a thing??

the reason I ask is they are replacing some crossings near me and they have the old stuff just lying around. Full sections, I could probably pick one up and get it cut into smaller sections for the price of buying my uncle refills on his ox act. tanks. Any interest?? and what lengths would be the most useful??

If you could get them for a low or no cost, and if reasonably priced shipping can be arranged, I'd love a RR track anvil. What I want ideally is about 10-16" long. I could also use a 2-4" one to use as a portable anvil (part of the repair kit).

I'm definitely very interested, please let me know how this develops.

I, too, would be VERY interested in a small (4") one for mobile use as well. I'm tired of jury-rigging on the field. (Last time I used a rock--not pretty)

I'd like one about two feet long. The shape I'd want might be a little odd compared to other folks. If you're going to really do it, shot me an email, and I'll email you a sketch, and you can shoot me a quote.

If the shipping is reasonable, I would like a 4"-6" one too.
Could you cut a 4in "horn" on one about 8"-10" long ?
