hello from the new fulla ( full of stupid questions)

Post by Commander R.J.Dixon »

hey love this site . its was just what i was looking for. im from New Zealand and im the CO of a group here. The New Carthaginian Army.
were not quite sca or reinacters ( and barely ever serious. unless seriously silly) but we do enjoy our armour and our weapons.

after too many concusions i have decided i need a helm.
i recon i can make what i need in a helm from my head but some of the paterns on the site have showed me where i was going wrong. so its all good. :)

im still trying to find a patern for a helm like one from a japanise anime called "berserk" the helm in that is perfict for the battle conditions i am in.
keeping good periferal vison is a must you see as the numbers in many of our battles are never in our favour and you are oftern fighting 5 to 6 ppl at the same time.

otherwise the Sallet by Rainald is my next option. although i do have a concern over how badly the vision is impared by that particular type of helm. this may not be a problem tho.

hope i can learn alot from all of the more experianced ppl here.

Welcome aboard. Got any pictures from your group?

I don't see any safety reason why that particular sallet design couldn't have a bargrill instead of the face plate. You might try that.
Per pale sable and gules, two eagles rising respectant Or and in base an open

Welcome Commander, This site is pretty interesting, and also can get a little addicting at times. I too would be interested in seeing photos of your group if you can, sounds like a fun lot.
Yours in service,
