Buying my first helm...

Post by Pietro da San Tebaldo »

This Pennsictide, I'm shopping for a bascinet. Workmanship-wise, what should I look for? What are your recommendations of merchants who do very well/not so well who'll be at War?

Assuming mild steel, how much should I expect to pay?

Pietro

go to white mtn armouries site. Look at the styles, quality, etc. His prices are also reasonable for the amount of quality you get.
He has a nice selection of Bascinets.

I look for a strait well done medial ridge and good welds with no holes in them. Look for elegant curves to the sides. Bascinets shouldnt have blocky sides.
