[BEG] Gauge question

Post by Dmitriy »

Which gauge system are we using for SCA standard -- B&S or USG? I am trying to figure out what the "16 gauge" we requier for helms is in millimeters, and one table gives me 1.28 and another 1.5something.

Thanks,
-Dmitriy

When in doubt, go with 1/16".
I have no idea which system we're supposedly using, but at least one SCA document mentions "true" 16 guage as being 1/16".

.. which comes out to about 1.58 mm -- okay, our minimum is still thicker than the Russin reccomended "optimal" thickness.

Just wanted to see how hard they hit.. guess I'll cool it when (if) I go there -- dented a 14 gauge helm at the last pas. With a greatsword, though.
