Looking for Lamellar

Post by Berktai »

I'm looking for a armour that makes lamellar plates of either metal or of leather. I'm specifficaly looking for the plates that resemble the ones found at www.plasticlamellar.com.

Torvaldr makes leather ones similar - he advertises here regularly. Don't know if he has a website, but here is one of his auctions:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

You may need to cut and paste the link. There is a pic of one of the lamella on the page.

For metal, I like either GAA or White Mountain, but the pattern is somewhat different for both. GAA isn't taking online orders until after Gulf Wars, and I think Adam of White Mountain is out of plates until March 15.

Lamellar any one?

Ya sure I makes hardened leather lamellar scales you betcha! They are hardened in carnauba and beeswax so they do not soften in sunlight. I use 8-9 ounce veg tan leather. They can come drilled or undrilled at your preference.

50 scales drilled $30.00
50 scales un-drilled $25.00

They can come in red, green, black, blue, or natural brown.

Lacing patterns available if you need them

Since I make my own scales to order I am technically never out of stock. Hardened leather works perfectly for SCA combat protection, and has the added bonus of being able to be different colors. Not that I am down on metal, but the leather is much, much, much lighter. :D

Here is the link to my scale page on ebay.
