Points and laces with schynbalds

Post by Armourkris »

I just finished some gambosed legs with a dependand knee, and tonight i'll probly be finishing the matching schynbalds. I was going to just strap them on at the calf and ankle, but got the idea that if i point them onto the legs just below the knee as well, then they wouldnt slide down at all. does anyone know if that is even remotly historacly? or were they suposed to rest on your shoes?

and yes, i plan on posting pics, along with pics of the corrazinna i made for my room mate, and a few other small pieces.
just need to get myself soe webspace up.
*edit*
oh yea, for next time, does anyone know how a way to get that concave curve above the ankle without welding or one of those fancy curved stakes that i wish i had.

I haven't come across any indication of pointing them like that in period.

I have found it easy enough to get the curves around the ankle using very basic gear. Ball stakes and hammers.

Check out the thread about the greaves I made.http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... ht=greaves
