Cool site, some nice looking stuff- I'm always put off by "mail for a quote", though- it means I probably can't afford it.

Has anyone gotten quotes for a Byrnie or Hauberk sized maile shirt from them?

Too expensive for MY blood no doubt, but I'd be curious...

I tried to buy off of these people. I got an e-mail back telling me that their lawyer said that liability laws in the states are a problem, so they would not sell to me at any cost. This was back in May.

Good luck.

I got full shirt from this company just last week. I ordered 2 of them and the box weighed in at just about 25lbs.

My shirt ran me about $400. It 0.8mm wire with 7mm OD rings. I'm 6'2" and 210 and it's a bit large (I ordered it large). The only real problem is the sleeves are larger than I wanted. I just need to go through and put some laces in it. I'll post a pic later this week.

The problem with these guys selling to US is that we have laws that allow to sue the company if you get hurt wearing it. Germany has a pretty good view of things. Kinda like this "You let me swing at you with what? Didn't that seem like a bad idea? That'll be a fine of XX.XX Euro for wasting the courts time."

So you need to contact someone over in Germany to send it to you. My suggestion is get online and get on the Drachenwald (SCA) Mailing list. Ask someone there.

The other option is to wait until I put in another order and get in on it. If you have an order of 5 shirts or more you get a discount.

I don't know that I want a shirt, but a strip of mail cloth and a couple really large coifs with no face openings would be great... Image (I need to fit at least one to an occulared style helm, so it needs to be much higher than a normal camial and the face would have to be cut out to fit just so.)

Arland you sneaky SOB, I wish I had thought of that, as I sit here waiting for my Indian made mail to slowly get made, and hopeing that it is what I ordered. I keep hearing stories about how when the suits from India finally arrived, the neck was 41 inches, and how the sleeves were to small to wear over a gambeson. Perhaps a bunch of BS, but it does make me nervous. Sorry I don't have $400 right now.

Very close to ditto.
Give me an e-mail when an order is upcoming.
I may, MAY be able to come up with the money Depending on what the Stock Market does to me.
If it picks up enough I should probably sink my Money Markets into speculation, if it drops much worse, Likewise. But if it picks up just a little...(or even stays even keel)

Arland,
Could you shoot a picture of the mail and post it? From their site, it looks kind of like they swedge the join. Sort of makes it look like the swelling caused when riveting the mail.

Arland,

I too, would be interested in seeing pics of the mail and knowing when an order will be forthcoming. Thanks!

Below is the link to the geocities I page I made for the geman maille. It takes a of time to load. These are the shiny .8mm wire, 7mm OD rings.
