Epitome of the armour craft

Post by ScottC »

What is the hardest project to undertake? What did you complete that let you know you were getting good at this craft? What project is your goal? For me, if I do this for years, I think I would like to be able to complete a nice close helm. That seems like the most difficult, in my uninformed opinion, with all the pieces that need to fit together and still allow the piece to move properly.

I don't know if the epitome of the craft would be so much a type of armour, but perhaps how well a piece is made...

A generally skilled armourer should be able to make just about any item, the true mark of skill would involve how well the item is made though.

Gauntlets.

Lots of people make them, but few make them really well.
