New Gauntlets

Post by Silvester »

My wonderful Lady bought me my first pair of gauntlets at Pennsic. Now I need to know how to fasten in a pair of gloves.

Does anyone have some decent pics that may help me??

Hammered Wombat used to have some Gifs up of him wearing a gauntlet and it showed how it was strapped.

Don't attach gloves, make some mittens...
I reciently got a new set of gauntlets and made mittens instead of the old glove trick.
I find much better feel and control of the weapon.
Just my 2 bits.

I just put straps across the palm and fingers and tie the thumb onto my gloves. I use a pair of welders gloves and my gauntlets. This is all I need. The padding in the welders gloves is enough padding. Plus, they are leather and cheap.
I have fought with attached gloves and did not like them at all. (I once had a Jiffy Rivet hit under my thumbnail, tearing it off when someone hit me with a good thumb shot. This alone is enough reason to not attach the gloves.)

Well due to my last screw up trying to post pics... I will just give you the URL so you can go there instead of posting a pic the size of a Buick. Here you go:

http://members.spree.com/armour/gaa/gallery/g-099.htm

It shows a set of gauntletts that I made and how they are straped with the gloves mounted. Hope it helps.
