Assorted Armour Pieces (Pics)

Post by Edric »

A few different pieces of armour here.
First 5 pictures of me in an italian export sallet by MRL, polished up for me by Patrick Thaden, my wife's new breastplate that Patrick put the finishing touches on (buckles, rolled edges, center rivit, plackard edge, polishing) she did the basic shape herself. The legs are completly by Patrick. He was adjusting the greave for me which is why there is a heat mark on it.

The last 2 pics show are with a german sallet that he has for sell. It is a very nice piece with spring pin latch and a period liner. A great piece for Living History.

I noticed a few of the pics were missing and I fixed the problem.

lotsa folks looked but i figured i'd post. :)

I like the looks of the armor. it seems well made with good lines.

do you have any more pieces for the kit? if so it would look good to have it put together for your next photo set. if not, no biggie.

if you do have a full kit but the pieces don't go correctly (period wise) with what you have shown, just explain the inconsistencies so that I, and anyone else interested, can be clear on what is what. and to be honest, a good looking mixed kit is a good looking kit as far as i'm concerned.

anyway, so far, it's much better than I can make or buy. a great start.

Right now this is just various pieces thrown together.

I am moving towards doing some Living History events and this is sort of the start of putting a couple of kits together.

The legs are the first step in a full harness Italian harness I hope to eventually put together.

The breastplate and the italian sallet DO go together. They will be for my wife once I get my kit done. I will use them until then.

My soft kit consists of the hose that I have on under the legs and a pair of turn shoes (sorry about the t-shirt). I am debating if I should go ahead and make an arming doublet, or if I want to make a regular doublet and wear it with the breastplate in the mean time.

Right now I am working on getting a longsword and belt so that I can have a weapon.

After that I will probably work on getting a sallet and infantry breasplate for myself and a longsword for my wife.
