Hi Folks,
I am looking for a second hand mail shirt I can use for lightly armoured longsword combat.
I'd like it to be riveted at 18ga (but I don't know I can afford riveted) or butted ay 16ga, the smaller the link the better.
Cheers,
Neil

What range can you spend? I have a welded mail shirt that is longsleeved quite light, and in basically mint condition... but the form of the links isn't quite appropriate for LH work, whereas for longsword work, with long sleeves and full skirting, it would do just admirably if you can afford it. I couldn't let it go for less than I picked it up, though, which was 450.

If you are looking to get a riveted shirt for $225, ANY riveted shirt, I would stop looking. Sorry, but the cheapest I have ever been able to find even the crappiest India riveted mail was about $350 and that was a fluke mass order.
India mail has come down in price but not that much yet. Nor do I expect it to drop that much.

HI,
I hardly *expect* to find any riveted mail shirt for what I can actualy afford. That said, there's always room for hope
The main idea behind this WTB post is that someone has a good quality butted shirt they would like to sell. I tossed out the $250 as that is the max I could spend if the planets align and someone has a riveted shirt to sell.
Cheers,
Neil

Well I can get the galvanized Indian stuff for about 300 Euro per shirt. At the going rate that is about 360$ plus shipping. Somebody wants one please email me. Even with shipping it may be less expensive than what you guys pay. Aluminum for 50 Euro more.
*Note* I do not sell or merchant these things, but if I can help out an Archiver I will do so.
I also have a butted mild steel hauberk with long sleeves, mild steel, I believe 8mm ID, 1.4mm wire, decent weave, German made, that I would part with for 185$ plus shipping or a nice trade.
Regards
