Just curious, is the poundage for a CA bow and target bow the same?
I'd like to have a bow to shoot target with at Pennsic, but my Lady may want to get into combat archery, so I'm just checking in advance.

No, here is a link to Trimaris' archery page. It states that there is NO weight limit for target archery.

for combat archery you are limited to 50 lbs at 28 inches. but you are only allowed to shoot siloflex or golf tube arrows.
if you buy a lighter bow under 30 lbs at 28 inches you can shoot the rest of the combat archery arrows.
I would sugest spending 15 or so on a inexpencive fiberglass bow for combat archery.
they can usualy be found a the trift store or ebay.
I think my last one was 3 plus 8 for shipping.

losthelm.. Trimaris does not allow golf tubes or Siloflex missiles to be used (from bows or crossbows) in their kingdom. So you will be limited to 30 pounds for a bow. They are stricter than society standards for crossbows.
A 30 pound bow should work well for both target and combat archery. I recommend that you get a style where the arrow rest sticks out, instead of going inside the bow (cut-out style). I'm trying to use terms that I think are descriptive, in case you aren't familiar with the technical ones.
Check with Baron Iain Fhearghuis, your kingdom combat archery marshal for more details. His email address is on my marshal contact page:

He and Sir Erika are great and I'm certain if you need any help, they will be happy to help you. I believe there is a monthly kingdom war practice, with combat archery. Sir Erika's household and Duke Baldars both have some really good archers, so depending on where you live, maybe you can work with them some. They do unit tactics and training, so it's pretty cool. His Excellenancy is an awesome shot.
I recommend checking with him, since Trimaris does have different rules from other kingdoms.
I hope that helps.
