With my maille badly rusted and my funds tight, I'm thinking about going for it. Not very sure about it though... any opinions?

Me too. I am thinking of buying 2 shirts from KL and using one to augment the other into a long-sleeved hauburk. I'd use the maille left over from the second shirt as a cammaille, ventaille, etc.

I just got to find somebody who can do the joining of the pieces for me at a decent price (or learn to do it myself).
