Acorn shaped buttons needed

Post by Black Swan Designs »

Hi all-

I have a client who wants acorn shaped buttons for her custom gown. Has anyone seen buttons like this anywhere, or know of anyone who is making them? Pewter, silver or gold coloured metal. Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Gwen,
If you have someone who can do the castings, I have a small handful of Acorn-ish buttons that I literally found in a parking lot buried in dirt a few years ago. There weren't enough for my cotehardie, but it might be what you are looking for to cast. I would have to look around my house to make sure I have them, but if I do, I can mail one your way.

Lothar
contact my privately if interested.

Hello Gwen, I found two place that sell buttons. One is the Pillaged Village. Pillagedvillage.com-they were at Pennsic last time I was there. Also, www.silversites.net/homespun.html has silver metal acorn buttons.

Cool, thanks for the responses!

Lothar, I appreciate the thought very much, but I'm not keen to go into the button casing business myself at this moment for just this one job. Thanks anyway!

Dougal, Pillaged Village was the first place I called this morning and the best they can do was a flat button with an oak and acorn motif which the client didn't much like. I tried the other site but it keeps crashing my computer, so I'll try it tonight from home where I have a DSL connection. Thanks for the info!

Doug, I emailed you privately to the effect of how big, how soon, how much? I'll look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks everyone! 8)

Another :bump: for Doug. I might be able to use something from one of the other sites, but I'm most interested in the repro ones.

Silversites crashes every computer I've tried it on, so it must just hate Macs.

Thanks again for the help-

Gwen
