SCA armour and weapons regs in German?

Guys,

I have decided that I need a new bar grille on my helm (or at least one weld), even though there is really nothing wrong with the one I have. I have an excellent Metalbau in my village. I mean that, excellent. Thomas (the smith) is a careful artist who kind of digs it when I bring something medieval-ish in to him. I think he likes the change of pace from farm machine parts and gate hinges. My little jobs are usually in the "Six pack" range (too short to make a bill up for, bring me a sixpack), and he is always happy to do them. Usually, if he has the welder fired up already that day, he just squacks it out in less than a minute, and I bring him a six pack the next day.

The problem is that SCA rules are pretty specific, and I am not quite competent enough in german to communicate them. Is there any place tha has the SCA armour and weapons regs translated into german?

he had a copy of the rules of the list in German

Also he could put you in touch with Jan, society name is Angus a German smith that plays in the society, he could help I know as he made several of the pieces of my armor.

Hi,

also Lord Guido vom Driesch of Drei Eichen would come to mind. He has built enough armour to know the German terms as well as availabilities of SCA-legal materials and has also recently been made a warranted marshal. Maybe you can work with him. I'd also offer my help but I'm pretty un-knowledgeabel in regards to metalwork.

If your welder friend understands a little about what you're doing with the helm, then I wouldn't worry about him re-welding the face bars properly. Welders, almost without exception, tend to 'overdo' their work in terms of durability.

Are you having him completely take the grill apart, and replace it? Then all you have to remember is the bar thickness and spacing. He'll take care of the rest, after knowing that your head will be beat upon in it.

I know you're German is up to that task...
