Yes this is something I *should* know but I don't but can anyone recommend a good polish (that can be purchased in say Walmart) to polish brass coronets/crowns with? Was told there was something better than Brasso but the gentle could not think of the name.
Thank you so much for any information!!

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

Maas metal polish, without question.
Brasso is old school and messy.
After you clean the Maas off with a rag try buffing with a dry cotton wheel mandrel for insane shine. You can get these little cotton wheels at Home Depot for about $10 in the drill bit area.
Hope this helps,
Karl

Best I have ever found is Happich Semichrome Polish.
Paste stuff in a tube, non abrasive, 6-9.00 a tube.
My dad used it for years on his brass when he was a police officer.
Best test he said was to use it on a piece of gold plate, it only scratches to the level of the rag you use to apply it.
Personally, I have used it on many sets of Kingdom regalia, primarily those of the Midrealm (SCA).
Good luck!

Insane Irish,
You forgot the whip with your polishing kit.............beat the squire well enough and you can get at least 2000 rpm out of him!
On a serious note,my preference is for Solvol Autosol,it gives a wonderful finish on just about any metal.I use it on all my armour ,have done for years,it is great stuff.
Regards as ever,
Russ
