Anyone in the St.Joseph area?

Post by Constancius »

Is there anyone in the St.Joseph area of Missouri that can help me in cutting and pieceing together my helm? I have everything except the tools needed to cut 14 and 16 guage stainless. I have tried to use my jig saw, but it goes through blades like there's no tommorrow. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I'm in Manhattan, Kansas. That's less than three hours away. Also, I find myself in Leavenworth frequently.

Drop me a line if you come out this way...

I grew up in St. Joe, but live in Caid now, so I can't help you directly. The first thing I made was a Wisby since I had only a grinder, a stump and a hammer. To cut the plates out I drew the patterns on the steel and took it to a metal shop that offered plasma cutting. I think they charged me $15 or $20. For help putting the helmet together, your best bet (aside from going it alone) is to see if anyone in Kansas City has armouring nights.

I'm about 2 hours north of you in Omaha. I've got access to a Beverly B2 Shear in my shop. The Barrony I'm in has shop nights two Sundays a month, and I'm there a bunch more than that. If you feel like a drive, I've got the tools.
