Is it possible to anneal aluminum? i really have no clue... and if I'm gonna be working with it as eraatically as I think I am I may have to to prevent cracking...

Yes. Do a search of the Archive will bring up in depth explanations of how to do it easily.
Quick synopsis: Take your torch with a fuel rich flame and "blacken" the surface of your aluminum. Then turn your torch to a neutral flame and heat the aluminum until the "black" burns off. Cool the aluminum. Done.
