Where is best place to buy a b2 Shear ?

They turn up on eBay quite often. Be prepared to pay near new price, as with reenactment on the rise, and the new fab shop fad sweeping the nation, you'd do just as well to buy new, and know your getting a good product.

There only seem to be a few places even on the internet to get one.
Eastwood has it overpriced at 849.00 plus shipping and one other place
called Rollingthundermetalworks has it at 674.99 plus shipping.
Have any of u dealt with Rollingthunder before?
Or is there anyone who knows where i can drive to get on in Florida?
its really woth driving to me cause i may see other thinggs i need where they sell the shears at.

If you are active in the SCA in the lakeland Area,check with
Earl Gregory Ahern or make contact with Master Geoffery in Starhaven,
Last I recall Master Geoffery had a "floating" b2 he was loaning out,
mebbe you can get his for a fair price.

While I can't help you with the shear I am from Lakeland. I was raised there and introduced into the SCA in the Shire of the Ruins in Lakeland. My father owns a scrap metal yard outside of town and he might be able to locate a used shear. Never hurts to check!

The best place is to find someone with a used one that you can look at in person and then take it with you for a low price if you like the condition. I picked up a B3 for $300 a couple years ago. Finding such a deal is obviously much harder and slower than buying a new one, but Eastwood wants $1000 + shipping more (which is still $300 more than they wanted a couple years ago...)

Ask around a lot, keep your eyes open. If you want one right away, you'll spend a lot or risk getting a used and overly abused tool.

If your willing to do some web searching... start keying in things like "Used Beverly Shear", "Used Shear", "Used Metal Shears", you get the idea..

I sorted through tons of links before I found my B2, but I picked it up for $350, so I guess it was time well spent.

I just buckled down and bought a new one at $706.00 shipped cant wait til
it gets here,I have just hated using a jigsaw so bad that it has held up my making anything,it is so loud slow and doesnt do good on curves.
The place i got mine from actually called me back .
It was Bativa from EBMachinery now all i need is a new blowtorch ,english wheel and planishing hammer electric of course.or maybe air

I live over in melbourne fl (east coast). I have a pretty good armouring shop. I have open shop on most sat. afternoons. If you would like to try out a tool, I might have it , I'm a tool junkie. I don't have an english wheel or an air plandishing hammer, I have a dishing machine (hand op.) that works well and normally doesn't need planishing. I also have many different welding methods(oxy/accetl., mig, tig,)
newfighter who posted earlier was correct, at one point I had a b-3 I would loan out, but I traded it for a #92 w.a. whitney.
Are you SCA or another group? If you are sca ask sir taka about me, we used to be squire brothers.

I'm sorry that I don't have any pictures of it that I could email to you. If you would like a discription of it Duke Gaston might be at chalice and he has used it. Others include, sir osrick, sir ardend, earl gregory, I'm sure that there are others ask around. It is a relatively easy and cheap machine to build and it does ALOT.
I will not be attending hero to the chalice this weekend. I,we have a two year old doing events is difficult. I think that I'm daytripping scotts/welsh.
