I want to create some sexxxy fantasy armour for the ladies with some really fine details up top and down below.
By deatails I mean the armour will be shaped or sculpted to appear like the flesh does underneath the armour.
It would also possibly incorperate leather and chainmaille.
All I need is a model to size and fit it too, A fine woman (not as fine as Mandy) who was willing is no longer avaliable but I should have no problem in that department.
Just wondering if it would be worth the time and effort...Well heck, the numerous fittings would be worth it, I just wonder if any money could be made.
Thanks!

I've seen breastplates that mimic a woman's "assets" for sale at SCA events. I almost bought one at Gulf Wars a few years ago except the armourer (a large black man who hailed from Florida, don't remember the name) wouldn't take either checks or credit cards & I was short on cash to buy it outright.
I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me. I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.

market
While learning how to raise at the local baronial armoury I ended up making stuff that looked like breasts (start with a circle too small to make a norman conical, then try to make a norman conical) and had several husbands ask me to make pairs for their ladies. I declined simply because let's face it, none of their ladies was Mandy.
Basically, answer these questions and then you know the answer.
Are there a lot of women with the body (or body confidence) to wear stuff like that?
Do they, or their significant others have any money?
I think that's the major flaw with the fantasy market, not a lot of money. The larp crowd seems to be mostly young, and therefore without a lot of money. Best bet would be to come up with a portfolio and see if you get any bites.

If you're thinking about an "entry level" product, I see that Chainmail.com sells what they call "Solid Metal Valkyrie Cups" in several sizes. The customer can incorporate them into a maille or leather garment, or simply use spirit gum to glue them on ( ).
See http://www.chainmail.com/chainmall/valkarie.htm
(Warning: thumbnails may not be "workplace friendly".)
It seems like a good way to build up an inventory of "off the shelf" items without having to commit to custom designs or fittings.

Two possible markets for such things would be Sci-Fi Conventions and RenFairs. I've seen stuff like that at both, and sellling at quite hideously high prices.
I know of one person in the Northern Illinois area who used to play some in the SCA and did some neat armour out of leather and stuff. He quit to go into business for himself making...uh...well, "strapwork" for the "bondage" market. He had the connections (I never asked) to get his work seen and marketed in the right places.
Last I heard, a looong time ago, he was making more than I do as an engineer...
Don't get me wrong. He can do AMAZING work. It's just that he had people willing to dish out a $100 for stuff that cost $5 in materials and 10 minutes work. I'm just jealous, sort of.
Not that jealous though. He had some hair-raising stories to tell about some custom fittings at some private "specialty" clubs he sold his wares at. He was a Vietnam vet who saw a lot of action in Saigon, Bangcock and Manila...and he was STILL shocked...
