Celebration of Arms - Open field - Pas d'Armes June 1-3rd

Post by BrianRPrice »

Greetings!

The Schola Saint George (DFW) is hosting a Celebration of Arms - Open Field - Pas d'Armes on June 3rd - 5th.

We will be holding tournaments, informal teaching and sparring sessions for a bunch of weapons, including the longsword, dagger, medieval poleaxe, and rapier / spada da lato.

We are looking at two different sites, but we intend that there be camping in a medieval encampment surrounding the central list. We should be in the North Dallas area and welcome combatants from different traditions to come and play, demonstrate, teach and generally celebrate arms with us!

If I may, by "different traditions" do you mean different periods of live steel groups, or entire organizations that fight non-steel, such as SCA?

Our tradition is that any weapons' form that is agreeable to the combatants and to the sponsors (from a safety point of view) is fine.
So SCA combatants may of course participate, although the focus of the pas will be on historical technique.

Brian,
Why are you scheduling this during the week, instead of on a weekend?
