Actually Asbjorn, we are thinking of adding one... The reason we use rattan for the wooden sword tourney is that,
1) gets more scadians to come and play
2) rattan is more durable than any wooden waster I have used
3) rattan is way cheaper than a wooden waster
4) rattan is safter when it breaks than a hard wood.

So, if people would like to see a rattan no holds barred, we will add it. We even have the rules written up already but were hesitant to actually do it.

I would like to try it next year when I will have my full 14th c spring steel kit. The no holds barred rebated steel combat looks cool.

We look forawrd to haveing you.. Dont let the lack of armor stop you from comeing out and competeing though.... We have tournaments for all levels of gear and skill levels. Plus it's a great way to support the WMA community. I really think that it is events such as these that get people interested in the medieval martial arts and it lets people know that such things exist!
