constructing an authentic spiked buckler

Post by Wyrm »

I'm interested in making a spiked buckler and I thought I would put this here for some feedback. Have any spiked bucklers survived? If anyone has some good ideas as to how the spike was constructed, if it was hollow or solid how it was attached to the umbo I'd be interested to know them. Cheers.

Hello.

The few shields with a central spike that I am aware of are renaissance shields and their spike was bolted on.
