Wanted: Inexpensive gaunts for a small person.
This is one of the few items left I need for my SCA legal kit. They would need to fit some very small hands, small adult/large youth.

Perhaps you can put your newbie tools to use.

Add to this pattern what you learned from TOMAR's hourglass gaunts.
You have not been reading that book for nothing have you?
If you make your own gaunts they will fit you.
I found it impossible to fit gaunts long distance.
Best of luck on your quest.

Happy Metal Pounding
This was a problem that caused me no end of headache. Avalon consists largely of very small people who all want to fight with guantlets; basket hilts have all but disappeared. However, I needed a reliable, inexpensive source of guants.
My solution came in the form of Ashcraft Baker (http://www.ashcraftbaker.com/). Now, I'm not saying they make the best or most authentic guants, but they do make the best gaunts in their price range (80-100 dollars). Almost as important, they will have them in your hot little hands on time, every time, and they have a size extra small that would fit a hobbit.
I wish other armourers had even half of Kelly's professional ethics.

Bring me my broadsword and clear understanding.

I firmly reccomend the leather gauntlets from House of the Wolf. I absolutely love mine. I've never had a better grip on a weapon, I've never had a better feeling of articulation and I'm totally confident in the protective value they afford. They're just real good stuff.
The carrot is the noblest of insects.
We have a few pair in stock of different sizes, one extra small pair stainless and Dad has a regular pair stainless under construction and should be finished in a couple of days.
