Linen drawing- And the Winner is........

Post by Black Swan Designs »

Image

Jeffrey and Adam helped me with the drawing, and the winners are:

Kyle Lovelace
Rocky Mount, Va

Douglas Confere
Diamond, WV

Chris Fite
Granbury, TX

Faith Cunningham
New Castle PA

Judyann Hambrick
Belvidere,TN

-----

Sean Smith
Atlanta GA

Jack Cannon
Tallahassee, FL

Michael Smith
Dallas, TX

I had 5 bundles of linen to give away. Because so many people sent their names in, I’ve dug around and added 3 more bundles to the pot, bringing the total to 8 bundles. The last 3 bundles are coloured linen pieces. The above list is the order in which the names were drawn, so I’m going to give the first 5 people on the list the option of chosing white linen or one of the coloured bundles. The added 3 names will get a suprise bundle.

Since a lot of you said you wanted to make helmet liners out of this stuff, I’ll figure out a way to do another drawing for helmet liner makings in the next week or 2.

Thanks to everyone for entering this drawing, it’s been fun! :D

I said we'd pull the winning names out of a hat. I thought y'all deserved to have your names drawn out of the best hat in the house.

Thank you!!! I guess that's the closest I'll get to wearing such a nice helm for a long while. Now my mom is going to wonder wtf I ordered now... LOL! (Though I am getting some used gaunts. She'll really wonder at that.)

Like I said, now that I know you guys can use this stuff I won't stockpile it.

We usually give away "those stylish HE T-shirts" with large orders, but Jeff wants to offer them for sale. I think they'll be available on the website pretty soon. They'll be in the "Sundries" section for about $10.

Hooboy, looks like I need to order more T shirts.......

Oh, and by the way, Jeffrey is wearing an old style HE Tshirt. The new ones are slighting different in that the knight is jousting, and the caparison looks exactly like Jeff's...what a suprise.

Thanks so much for doing this. My girlfriend couldnt believe that I had actually won it (especially since I didnt tell her I entered). She is the one that does all the sewing for us and we both really appreciate what you are doing. btw, I am the Sean from Atlanta.

Heh, don't you western kingdoms folks know we breed 'em big out this way (standard fighters in Atlantia start at 2X and go up, and hell I'm one of the smallest in my bunch at 290....) there a few 5X's around here.... kinda like those middle kingdom CORN-FED Folks.....

Aw shucks guys, go on- you're embarrassing me......

Jack, here are some suggestions of things you can do with your winnings:

  • Underpants! :D
  • Arming caps, coifs
  • Helmet liners
  • Armour bags
  • Linings for things like doublets, cotehardies, etc.
  • Stuffing/padding for a helmet liner/jack/gambeson
  • Period sweat rags
  • Pillowcases
  • Armour polishing rags
  • Chausses
  • Tablecloth/napkins
  • Waxed covers (for bowls, pitchers and things you don't want bugs in)
  • Charcloth (to use with a flint and steel)
  • Box/arrow bags (if you're an archer)
  • Kid's clothing (if you have kids)
  • Veil/wimple (if you have a SO)
  • Stockings (for kids or a SO)

I'm sure there are uses for this stuff that I've not even thought of, but this should get you started. Have fun!

Well over 200

Your luck is bad because you sent your name in after the cutoff.

Jeff's not doing stock armour any more because it seems that noone wants to buy stuff that wasn't made special for them i.e. we have a heck of a time selling stock armour. You can order stuff, but if it's not in stock right now there's almost no chance of it being restocked. You have Jeff's email, so if you want something, email him. He's crazy busy, but he does answer email.

Yup thats about right.

I really wanted set of the spring steel legs with demi greaves. I could never get $700+ while they were in stock.

Gonna have any at Pensic? The mediums i tried on fit fine.

I knew i should have bought em last Pensic.
