I like it! I will be wanting to order a Corinthian for SCA combat sometime within the next year or so. Maybe I will want to order it from you?

Some suggestions:

1) bevel in the upper cheek area in towards the eyes a bit to improve downward vision

2) Add a "Chalcidian" style vertical slot from the bottom edge (on each side) up to the ear with a bit of a wider "earhole" at the top, to improve hearing

3) Edge the entire face opening in round bar stock

Cheers,
Tim

Indeed, some good bronze work with a well-made crest would make this quite the lovely helm for combat.

Thanks, and Bronze work would look great and could still be put on it.
But that would cost more. :)

Dragos,

What's the outside circumference of the helm at the tip of the nose? Also, what's the inside measurement straight from the inside center back of the helm to the inside of the nasal? I'm trying to evaluate if it will fit my big schnoz! :)

Timothy_D_Finkas

The measurment circumference starting at the nose and back is 29inches.

Front to back on the inside is 10 inches

The inside circumference is 27 1/4inch

I hope this helps

Do you mean 27 1/4" ? Because 17 1/4" doesn't make sense! :)

Dragos,

Thanks for the effort but even 27.5" si too small for 1/2" of padding, my noggin and my beak. I'll have to pass on these GREAT deal <sniffle>.

When I eventually have one made (by you or whoever) I will furnish a casting or dimensionally accurate foam mock-up of my head so that the fit can be perfect.

That would work well and even better if you have the base of the neck included.
