blade sharpening books, info, etc.

Post by Aelric_Southlake »

Anyone here have any books on knife/ blade sharpening that they have found particularly good, or well written? Have located a local tool sharpening shop that says they can do swords & daggers, and then thought, "I oughtta learn how to do this myself..."

Tons of stuff on Amazon, but don't know what's good. I do have some rudimentary knife sharpening skills passed down from my dad, but otherwise a novice.

Cheers,

Sounds like a good question for over at Sword Forum. I never saw a comprehensive book (althought I'm sure there are some good ones); I learned from others, by trial and error, and bits and pieces in other books on knife and sword making and woodworking.

I can, however, put a mean edge on a plane blade!
