From Torvaldr's Leatherworks

Post by Torvaldr »

Friends and customers, there have been a lot of issues that have made things very difficult over the last 30 days. I am on full disability due to an arthritic condition and until just recently, was not receiving any assistance from the state. The only income I had was from my armoring. Up until about 4 to 6 weeks ago that was working okay, I was making enough to fill my orders and have enough extra to buy materials to start getting a certain amount of pre-made stock. But a series of failures occurred that nearly shut me down. First was that a number of my shop machines broke. My scale punch, my sewing machine, and my leather cutter. To make matters worse my truck was impounded. All of this has caused me to fall behind on completing orders.

But I do have some positive news. The State of California has decided to pay me in full for all past due disability payments. With that money I will be able to get all my machines fixed or replaced and get all my leather restocked to complete my orders.

I do understand the frustration that you all feel when I am out of contact, for that I can’t apologize enough. I will do my best to keep in better contact.
