pretty!

I like the catch mechanism.

I especially like the vervelles...I wonder who made them? Oh wait, it was me!

Talbot,
The vervelles are actually the drawer pulls from horton brasses :D
The spring pins are cool, but they stick a bit. I think i need to taper them a bit. The pins sit flush in the holes, but the angle changes as the spring flexes and the pin angles forward and then they stick. Does that make any sense? I will be getting an aventail from Knuut eventually. Do you think i could come to the shop for some help fitting and attaching it?
I'm in Cincinnati, so your shop is much closer than Cad's
Edit, Why did i think you were in Indiana, not Illinois?

Your helm is indeed nice. What do you wear with it?

Sam,
You dirty bastage! You know i only do that dance for you!
Josh, I currently have 14 cent. spring steel arms, spaulders and 3/4 legs, and custom fitted front only greaves from Jeff Hedgecock at Historic Enterprises. I will be getting a breastplate from Jeff as well. Currently i have no maille, gauntlets or sabatons for this kit. I 'm also working on a corrazinna BP.

Ah. Horton Brasses catalog sez:
PRT-3: Chippendale post

Chippendale - That would explain the dancing in the thong.

Hey, Doug, I'll see you the 21st before the conference. I just have to see if anyone down there will let me crash on the floor.

And buy his vervelles. They're nice. :)
It's up to you now.

Hi Garreth,
Just looking around and saw your post. Thanks for the huge pictures!

Also sent you an email about the grill-faced visor. Lets get that fixed.

The vervilles are indeed 5/16" chippendale posts from Horton Brasses.

Chuck, i sent you an email regarding the other visor. Let me know.
Doesn't anyone else have any opinions on this helm. I think it is an amazing piece, but very few people have commented on it.

VERY nice!
Congratulations.

By the way if you look at your pictures in Photobucket, there is an "Edit" button there that will alow you to reduce thier size in increments, very nicely for things like this.

I notice that the spring latch is inside the verville line. The problem I see with that, is when you attach the aventail it will rest on the latch. Now the stainless aventails from knutt are pretty light, but activating the latch will be a hassel with the aventail on, or will it?
